Summary:
A poignant look at the life and heartbeat of Amsterdam, barreling through the first quarter of the 21st Century. The ancient streets look a lot like they did during the Golden Age, but behind the gilded doors of the Jordaan, swift changes are afoot. In this work, the direction of the city’s soul and future are examined through a few months in the lives of a handful of residents living in a grand old canal house. Their words and lives demonstrate that survival might depend on priorities, economics, and moralities that are as fluid as the water flowing though surrounding the canals.
